1. So far I have collected 140+ completed surveys for part 1 and half that amount for part 2. I suppose not have the surveys connected, rather joined into 1 has left people not wanting to complete or forgetting to complete the survey. It is a good number none the less and I will post the finding by Friday this week. Amongst the countries I have collected data from range from-Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, the United States, United Arab Emirates, Philippines, Australia, and so on. I tried my best to gather a range of ages, local and line of work. Overall, I think they survey process was a success.
2. I have also seeked further opinions on additional literature and presentation of my final pieces. Specifically, I have asked Clea Fokert, and Marcin Zachara for further information and critique of my current progression of my topic. Clea, is a practicing graphic designer at Underline, who I have been in contact with to discuss the presentation of the topic. We have discussed the idea to construct 3 books which, is “a great way of consolidating a range of ideas and explorations into a final piece. And exploring the production aspect of each book will be a lot of fun.” Clea has also suggested further readings that she will link me after her contact come through. As for Marcin Zachara, he is a Psychology major who has agreed to co-write my introduction/essay for the books. We intend to meet tomorrow to iron out the details.
3. I have also research printing houses who will print and compile the work for me. So far, I have considered ARGO, located in Woodbridge.
4. After Friday, I will compile the data and organize them in chart form. Then, I will construct the guidelines for the construction portion of my workshop. Basically, the research will be turned into handmade type.
